"Meat" the Team

The Crust, Wanda Baker - Founder

With over twenty five years experience in marketing communications, events, social media, promotions, project management and pizza eating, Wanda is excited to have an event in Calgary that speaks to the masses. As one of the original master minds behind the inception of YYC Pizza Week, and experiencing several trials and tribulations along the way, Wanda is grateful to have such a strong team of hard working volunteers involved in helping pull off this delicious city wide event now entering it's fourth year. It definitely takes a Village.

When not planning food events (she is also the founder of the Culinary Race), she spends her days food blogging, recipe testing, writing, and managing social media accounts. She loves to hang with her husband and kids, take off on fun family adventures, partake in food events and wine nights, travel the world, and teach her kids about the joys of cooking.

Rebecca is a Calgary-based Graphic Designer with a passion for all things creative and quirky. She spends her days designing logos, print projects and websites for her clients and wouldn’t have it any other way! When it comes to pizza, she loves all kinds (especially Hawaiian) and her Chihuahua Elliot would agree!

When Charlotte isn't flexing her marketing muscles she can be found in the wilderness skiing, hiking and canoeing. Pizza is the meal of choice after a weekend adventure.

The Classic - Irene Seto

They say that good things come in small packages and Irene is no exception. She works as a marketing professional 9-5, and as a lifestyle blogger and influencer 24/7. Irene is one of those rare "born-and-raised Calgarians" and is excited to share the pizza pie treats with other local food lovers. You can find her during Pizza Week on her phone sharing pictures of all the delicious dishes and riding her bike Minty to work off all calories of the many pizza slices to be had.

The (Green) Olive - Katie Novak

Katie believes in the power of community, communication, and creativity, and loves to bring all of these things to life on social media. This Ontario native now calls Calgary home, and she loves all of the amazing opportunity that there is in this city. By day Katie works in Education and Marketing, and she is also involved in many other Calgary projects and organizations including Beakerhead and Inn From the Cold. Katie enjoys photography, writing, reading, sushi, and of course all pizza; but unlike her favorite pizza topping (olives, must be green!), she's never salty.

The Quattro Formaggi  - Amanda Lambie

Amanda joins the Pizza Week team from our partner charity Calgary Meals on Wheels. She is an event coordinator with an extensive background in Food and Beverage and the hospitality industry.

If there was one food Amanda would want to for the rest of her life – it would hands down be pizza; so you don’t have to ask her twice to be part of the Pizza Week team! When not working during the day and when not helping in the restaurant at night you can find her lifting weights and studying for her Personal Fitness Trainer diploma – with this busy lifestyle, her cheat meal is always pizza, always! Pizza week will be a dream come true full of amazing pies, noteworthy creations and endless satisfaction from pizza!

The Spicy Jalapeño - Goodwill Carlos

Carlos moved to Calgary, from Mexico, in January 2005. Since then, he has been living and loving this city. With a 10 year background in Marketing, Promotions and Social Media; he has established himself as a loving and giving person with a savoury tooth for food, wine and treats. When he’s not documenting and enjoying food in and around Calgary, and while traveling, on his Instagram account, he’s a devoted dad to a precious baby girl and devoted husband to his wife.

arugula - kate hutchinson

Originally from Victoria, Kate moved to Calgary to go to school. Unfortunately, her first ‘adult’ job took her away from Calgary but work brought her back a few years later. Until recently, Kate worked as a producer for a community television station. Now she is working on starting her own business that will help businesses tell their stories through online video marketing. When not working Kate is snuggling her crazy rescue cat Edison and/or binge watching something on Netflix.
